Become a Laura Kay London Approved Artist!
To become and approved artist you must have completed your basic training with us and have been using and practicing your techniques for at least 4 months. You can then attend our approved artist masterclass to take you a step further to receiving our stamp of approval logo! You are able to use and display this logo on your work and you will also be featured on our website. You will be given marketing material that you can use in your salon to promote your approved status! You will also feature on our website when some one is looking for a Laura Kay London approved artist in their area.
Our approved artist masterclass is £950, you with learn our exclusive ombré shading technique as well as combining both techniques & perfecting your hairstroke patterns. After the masterclass you will need to send us 6 pictures of your best work for our approval. Once we have approved all your work you will be awarded and given our stamp of approval!

These are the Terms & Conditions for booking a course with Laura Kay London Academy.
Booking Conditions Cancellation Policy
All deposits are strictly non-refundable & non-transferable, unless enough cancellation notice has been given by the student or company/salon booking in writing. We deal with the bookings in the same way as a booking agent for our courses and we adhere to and comply with the Distance Selling Regulations 2014, which states that any cancellations must be made in writing within 14 days from the date the course was booked (not the date of the course) i.e If you booked with us on the 1st January for a course starting in May, we would have to be notified by the 14th January if you then wish to cancel. The 14 days cooling off period required under the Distant Selling Regulations states that if you fail to inform us within 14 days of the date of your booking all deposits are strictly non-refundable & non-transferable. Please note all cancellations must be made in writing to Laura Kay Academy by email or post to head office. We are unable to accept a cancellation notification via Pay Pal, Worldpay or any other third party payment system you may have used when booking. It is not their responsibility to let us know of any cancellations. So any cancellation must be made by the student directly in writing to Laura Kay London Training Academy. Please note that by ticking our terms and conditions agreement box when you book or pay your deposit over the phone, you are fully accepting the T & C’s for both your deposit paid to Laura Kay London Training Academy and also the balance paid 2 weeks before your course is due to start. In the unlikely event that the course date you have chosen is cancelled by the tutor you will be offered an alternative date. Please be aware that all deposits are strictly non-refundable & non-transferable (unless the correct written cancellation notification has been received) for all deposits paid. We pride ourselves on offering/promoting excellent courses and products and your satisfaction is our prime concern. In the unlikely event that you are not happy, we are available to assist in any way we can. Please note Laura Kay London Training Academy cannot be held responsible for any transport issues or cancellations, weather problems, unexpected work commitments, unavailability of a child minder or sudden illness that makes it impossible to attend a course. We can only refund students if you cancel a course place within the 14 day cooling off period or if a tutor cancels a course. Like other training schools we trade under the Trading Standards laws and regulations that apply in the same way they would if you bought a theatre ticket – ie being stuck in traffic or being unwell doesn’t mean you can change the ticket for another date. If you are looking to work as a technician/therapist and require a license from your local council, please be aware that all councils have different criteria with regard to the qualifications they will accept and that you are required to have. We have found that most councils accept Laura Kay London Training Academy qualifications, but things constantly change, we are not in control of their requirements and they do not always update us! We always advise you check with your local council if you require a license to practice. It is the right of the tutor to ask any student that is disruptive to leave the class at any time during their training if they feel they are having a negative influence on the other students, in fairness to them. In the very slim likelihood it would be necessary to carry this out, no refunds of the disruptive student’s deposit or balance will be given. By either paying your deposit or ticking you agree to our Terms & Conditions on the payment page (before your deposit payment can be accepted) you fully agree to our Terms & Conditions with regard to the above transport, work, weather, illness, child care or council issues you may have which would be out of our control and always the responsibility of the student and not that of Laura Kay London Training Academy. It is rare that a course date is cancelled by us, and there are usually more dates available. We are legally required to offer you another date to fulfil our contract with regard to your booking, and by having other dates on offer this means this course is still being offered and we are able to transfer you to another date. If you choose not to take another date you are entitled to a refund under the Trading Standards Distance Selling Regulations of your deposit, however please be aware there is a £5 admin fee (£10 for courses over £150) applied to any refunds. Any balance payment you have paid will be refunded in full. Please note we cannot be held responsible for any travel plans made by students when a course is cancelled by one of our tutors. If you have bought train tickets or taken time off work etc we cannot be held liable for any refunds of travel tickets or monies lost for time taken off work or money paid to child minders etc. We are unable to reimburse any students for any outlays lost when a course is cancelled. To transfer to a new date this has to be taken within 6 months of the cancelled date. This also applies if you are wishing to change your date within the 14 days after your booking; the new date can be taken within 6 months of the original course date. By ticking our Terms & Conditions box when booking a course with us, you fully agree to our full terms and conditions outlined on this page of our web site, which are fully available to view before you book a course with us. We have a lot to cover in our classes so in fairness to all students, if you arrive more than 30 minutes late you will not be permitted to join the class and your course fee, including the deposit, will be lost. By either paying your deposit or ticking the agreement box on our web site when you book you fully agree to these Terms & Conditions. Complaints are taken seriously and investigated in full.
At Laura Kay London Training Academy we are very clear as to the qualifications required and it is the responsibility of the student to ensure they have the right qualifications before they book onto an advanced course. If you have booked an advanced course and you do not have the right qualifications to attend you must let us know in writing within 14 days of booking in order to receive a refund. However if you fail to let us know within this time period, all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you wish to receive a refund you can only do this within the 14 working days and a £5 admin charge will apply (£10 for courses over £150). To avoid paying this charge we respectfully ask that you ensure you have the right qualifications, as stated on each course page, in advance of booking. By ticking the agreement box or/ and paying your deposit when you book you fully agree to these Terms & Conditions, including all refunds and charges as laid out on our website. We try to prioritise those students who may have failed the first time around, in order to help them repeat their assessment.
Bookings and Payments
Once you have made your booking through Laura Kay London Training Academy your details are then forwarded to the tutor. Once booked if you have any questions about the course you have booked please make sure you contact us. This helps with the smooth running of your course If you wish to book for another course in the future please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you. Please be aware that all our course material is copyrighted to Laura Kay London Training Academy, and students are not authorised to teach this course. If you are looking to become a tutor please contact us for possible places on our team. However if you wish to set up on your own, due to the strict copyright we have on all our material, no paragraph, photograph from our web site or manuals or any written material given out may be copied, reproduced or transmitted without the written permission of the authors or in accordance with the provisions of copyright. Designs and Patents Act 1988. Any person breaching copyright may be liable to criminal prosecution and a claim for civil damages. By booking your place at Laura Kay Academy you agree to the Terms & Conditions above and if you have any questions about your course please do not hesitate to contact us.
1. If for any reason you have to cancel your place on the course, please provide your tutor with at least 10 days’ written notice.
2. If you wish to cancel your place and provide at least 10 days’ written notice, 50% of the remaining course fee will be refunded. Deposits are non-refundable unless you give us 14 days’ notice in writing, from the date of booking.
3. Course fees for cancellations within 10 days of the course date will not be refunded or transferred.
4. If you do not turn up on the day or you cancel your attendance on the course day and/or have given no written notice that you will not be attending the course, then the full course fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
5. Whether or not you have paid your final balance by prior arrangement and then do not arrive for the course, you will still be held liable for payment of the full/ remaining course payment.
6. The tutor cannot accept responsibility for changes to students’ work commitments, illness or personal circumstances within this 10-day period and will not transfer or refund fees.
7. If a course is cancelled due to reasons beyond our control, we will endeavour to transfer you to another course date. Please note by ticking our Terms & Conditions agreement box when you book and/or paying your deposit, you are fully accepting the T & C’s for both your deposit paid to Laura Kay London Training Academy and also the remaining balance to be paid 2 weeks before the start of your course.
If you have any questions before you attend the course we suggest you email or phone to ask first before booking with us so you are happy with your choice, and so we feel we have covered everything you need to know. If you have any concerns we are here to answer them before you join a course.
When you sign up for a course and agree to our Terms & Conditions in full you agree to adhere to the request below with regard to letting us know about any health issues you may have.
Important – We put the tutors and your safety and comfort first at all times and as with any treatments there are contra-indications to consider which MAY affect you your participation on the course. If you have any concerns we are happy to cover these before the course.
By booking with us you agree to confirm by email to your tutor if you are under treatment from your GP or other practitioners for any of the following:
Pregnancy – Are you within the first three months? Cancer, HIV and AIDS, epilepsy, HBP or heart conditions, infectious skin disorders like chicken pox, contagious illness, diabetes (if skin is very thin bruising may occur), paralysis or loss of sensation, or recent surgery on neck or face.
You may need a letter from your GP stating that it is safe/appropriate for you to give treatments on the course. Care should also be taken if you are suffering from the following during the day of the course. Again this may affect your participation:
Local psoriasis or eczema, open sores or infections to the skin or ears, cold sores, high temperature or fever, being drunk or under the influence of other drugs, suffering from local pain such as toothache, sunburn, hypersensitivity or broken skin, acute inflammation or swelling, severe acne or conjunctivitis.
Please confirm that you are in good physical condition and fully able to participate in the course and have not been advised against participating by a qualified medical professional and that you certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude your participation on the training course.
